The Paladin class light bomber was developed during the First Great Conquest War (FGCW) by OmniCorp to counter powerful ion defence shields used by GenCorp forces on planets, moons and asteroids. The fast and agile Paladins could penetrate the shields and unleash their devastating payloads of AP (anti-proton) grav bombs and torpedoes on surface targets such as hardened emplacements and bunkers. With four self defence rapfire particle turrets and four seeker/torpedo launchers, they did a fair job of fending off opposition deck fighters ... to a certain point. Unfortunately, they were not shielded themselves, which made them vulnerable to heavy defensive fire - although Paladin pilots developed strategies to use terrain to mask their approach wherever possible.

The Paladin class has been retired from most corporate navies, although many are still found in the Rim, serving with smaller start-up companies or with pirate armadas.

Sure are! The Lancaster was my favourite WWII era bomber!

Really great design. Somehow the cockpits remind me to a russian Mi-24 Hind helicopter.

Thanks. Yes, it does a bit, although its cockpit was actually inspired by the cockpit of the Lancaster bomber in WW2.

Nice design, very detailed, I like the World War two-ish looking design of the cockpit and gunner seats. Good job.

Thanks for the kind words. Yep, I was inspired by WWII bombers, particularly the German and Brit bombers.
